Thornham is an old smuggling village right on the North Norfolk coast. Wide expanses of saltmarsh separate the village from the sea and it is a paradise for walkers and birdwatchers, as well as sailors and families looking for big open beaches.

Foodies really are spoilt for choice around Thornham, with three pubs, a deli and incredible farm shop. The dog friendly Lifeboat Inn is a great stop-off during a walk, The Orange Tree has won Dining Pub of the Year awards for many years, and stone-baked pizzas, tapas and various menus at The Chequers Inn. During the day there is the Thornham Deli which is one of the best across Norfolk and, more than just a farm shop, Drove Orchards offers an incredible range of fresh produce and PYO, with no fewer than 120 varieties of East Anglian apples, it really is a unique place to visit. Drove Orchards is also the home of Eric’s Fish & Chips, eat in or take away.

Near the village hall is a play park, cricket and football pitches. The village Hall also hosts regular cinema nights, so even in the evenings there’s plenty to do. And you are only a short drive or bus ride away from the seaside town of Hunstanton, with endless opportunities for all the family.
