Centrally located in the village, you have a great selection of restaurants, pubs, cafes and tea rooms all within easy walking distance, as is the village bus stop which means you do not need to have your own car to make the most of the location - quite a rarity for Exmoor! The property consists of a large double bedroom (with king-sized bed), two single bedrooms and family bathroom (shower over bath) upstairs. Downstairs is the well-equipped kitchen and an open-plan dining and sitting room, with patio door leading down a flight of steps to access the private courtyard/garden to the rear. Archways is part of a development which was built in the 1990s, therefore benefits from double glazing and modern heating.

Archways kitchen is fitted with dishwasher, combined washing machine/tumble dryer , fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, electric oven and ceramic hob. Other equipment includes cookware, toaster, kettle, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses.
A television and DVD player is provided in the living room and wireless broadband is available throughout the property. There is a high chair and pressure fit stair gate in the property for guests with babies.

Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. Archways is fitted with modern electric ecopanel heaters that are individually controlled and can be adjusted to suit your preferences. There is also an electric flame-effect fire in the sitting room that can be used to boost the temperature when required.

Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips.

A small amount of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. There may also be other non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available. Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid and surface cleaner will be present in the property. One or two toilet rolls will be provided.

Archways benefits from a private and enclosed garden/courtyard to the rear of the property, which is accessed from the living room down a short flight of steps. Outside table and chairs means you can eat and relax in the privacy of this garden. Off-road parking for one car is available in the car park to the rear of the property. If you have more than one car there is a pay and display car park nearby.

Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement only (maximum of 2). A supplementary fee of £15 will be added to your invoice to cover additional cleaning costs. Please do not allow your dogs on the furniture or upstairs and do not leave them alone in the property at any time.

Archways is strictly non-smoking.



Week-long booking and short breaks of three or four nights are available. This property changes over on Mondays and Fridays.

Exmoor is situated in South West Britain, specifically across West Somerset and North Devon. Often referred to as England's best kept secret, Exmoor is a wonderful holiday destination for anyone looking for a holiday in the great outdoors! There's so much to see and do, from short walks to long expeditions across the moors or horse riding, taking in a safari or sight-seeing at your own pace around the 'picture postcard' villages and hamlets.

Often described as 'the jewel in Exmoor's crown', Porlock has a long history of settlements existing on or near the site of the existing village, with stone-age remains only a short distance away. Porlock is a working village and boasts a number of pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and independent shops. There few more delightful surroundings than Porlock Vale, nestled at the foot of Porlock Hill, bounded to the north by its shingle ridge and breath taking views towards the Bristol Channel, and to the south by the rolling hills of the Exmoor National Park. The Exmoor coastline is formed mainly of cliffs but at Porlock the land flattens out and a unique mile long shingle ridge and an inland salt marsh have formed. For the bird watcher this is a very interesting site as a great variety of waders and wildfowl can be seen here in the winter as well as the occasional unusual bird passing through.
