Beach Retreat offers spotlessly clean, comfortable accommodation for up to 8 people and is ideal for couples or small families that like more space and enclosed gardens. The house has its own driveway with parking space for 2 or 3 cars and is within the Pennasville Estate with enclosed gardens suitable for younger children or your dog.
There is a footpath leading directly to the beach. The beach at Holywell is partly owned by the National Trust and has a lifeguard patrol during the summer months. A freshwater stream runs from Holywell village on the western side of the bay and offers shallower and safer water for younger children, (trying to dam the stream on a summer day can keep children of all ages occupied for hours!). Because of the short distance to the beach, our cottages offer excellent access to the Cornish coastal footpath. The Pennasville Estate is a safe and reasonably secure site; with electric automatic gates at the main entrance and large wrought iron gates at the top of the site. There is a completely enclosed play area suitable for children up to 12 yrs old - with a playhouse and boat, perfect for playing pirates. For older children there is an adventure climbing frame with a slide as well as tyre swings; and a separate grassed area with a football goal setup at one end. The Games Room has a pool table and table tennis table.
Ground Floor: Kitchen, dining area and sitting room followed by a twin bedroom with en-suite WC.
First Floor: Master bedroom, with sea views, with 5' double bed and en-suite shower room with sink and WC. Double bedroom, also with sea views, with a 4'6" double bed followed by a twin bedroom. There is a separate family bathroom with over bath shower. There is a stair gate at the top of the stairs.
Exterior: The enclosed garden has a patio and grass area with external table & chairs. There is also a fully enclosed children's play area on site.

In the summer months the beach is patrolled by lifeguards and of course, surfing lessons are available for those keen on learning.

Both the Womens and Mens Gig Championships are held here, as well as a balloon festival and surf and lifesaving events. Newquay Zoo now houses 130 different species in sub tropical gardens in the centre of the town.

The town also has an Aquarium, a Waterworld and numerous immensely pretty beaches for the less active.
