Brackley Cottage is located right in the centre of St Mawes opposite the lovely inner harbour. There are shops, pubs, restaurants, gift shops and a post office within a few paces of the front door. The foot ferry to Falmouth and the little ferry over to Place Manor are also right on Brackley’s doorstep. The cottage has been ingeniously restored to maximise the space available and it is both beautifully furnished and extremely well equipped. With its stunning views over the harbour and out over the fields of St Anthony’s headland from the master bedroom and quirky, almost triangular second bedroom and kitchen, Brackley is the perfect holiday hideaway.
Ground Floor: Porch leading to lounge. Into the kitchen / dining area with stairs to the first floor.
First Floor: Master double bedroom (4'6" bed) with views of the harbour. Shower room with separate WC and hand wash basin. Very small guest bedroom, double bed (4' wide) normal length on one side, narrowing to 175cm (5'8") on the inside.
Facilities & Services
Heating is via night storage heaters and additional electric heaters. The kitchen is very well equipped with a range of cupboards, kettle, toaster, electric oven & hob, microwave, washing machine & fridge. In the lounge area there is a TV & DVD Player as well as an iPod docking station. There is an iron and ironing board available. WiFi is available at the cottage.
Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included. One well behaved dog is permitted at the property at the cost of £30 per week, but please do bear in mind the cottage is quite small so it is not probably suitable for larger breeds. We regret no smoking is permitted. Use of the open fire is strictly prohibited. Regrettably there is no parking at Brackley although there are public car parks nearby.

St Mawes is one of the finest waterside villages in Cornwall. Situated overlooking an idyllic bay on the eastern side of the famous Falmouth Estuary, St Mawes has one of the mildest climates in Britain due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream. The sea is at the heart of the village and has helped to shape St Mawes from the little fishing village to the fashionable holiday destination that is so popular with visitors. A mecca for boating enthusiasts, St Mawes is a particularly popular sailing centre. Weekly club racing, village regattas and larger events are commonplace on the superb waters of the bay all through the summer.
St Mawes has so much to offer the visitor. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place Ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony's Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round. There is a selection of pubs & hotels with restaurants (including the renowned Tresanton Hotel) all within easy walking distance. There is a range of shops all within a few minutes’ walk including a well-stocked Cooperative store, Post Office, chemist, butchers, and art, book and clothes shops. The village also has a doctor’s surgery and a dentist’s surgery.
