Situated along the desirable central western shore in Mezzegra and surrounded with olive groves just between the beautiful villages of Lenno and Tremezzo. Therewith located close to two of the most famous Villas at lake como: Villa Balbianello and Villa Carlotta. The centre of Menaggio can be reached after only ten minutes car drive.
The detached house lies quietly but near to the lake side (only 300 meter). The intriguing lakefront and centre of Mezzegra can be reached in a matter of minutes by foot and here supermarkets, a traditional Italian bakery (“Panne de Maria”), a Hosteria directly at the waterfront (“Magnolia”), a traditional Italian Trattoria (”Del Risorgimento”) and a green grocery with local specialties can be found. Many other good and traditional restaurants are in the vicinity and can easily be reached by foot or car.
This modern house has a large garage from which the house can be entered directly. The living room is modern furnished with comfortable sofas and provides modern devices like Sat-TV, DVD, WiFi etc. for entertainment. The indoor dining area for up to 6 guests and a contemporary fully fitted kitchen with modern appliances, e.g. refrigerator, kitchen stove with oven, microwave, toaster and several types of coffee makers ensure all the comforts and conveniences of home.
French doors lead directly on a well dimensioned terrace and out into the sunny lake view garden where a stone picnic place provides an idyllic location for alfresco dinner parties, with splendid views of the olive groves and the lake. Comfortable sun chairs, a big sun umbrella as well as a wooden garden furniture set are ideal for relaxing and enjoying the sun as well as the astonishing views in all directions.
At the first floor are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with shower & toilet situated. The master “blue” bedroom has a comfortable double bed and offers a fantastic sunny lake view. The balcony, with a fine luxury lounge set provides a fabulous retreat and the opportunity to enjoy both the first and the latest sunrays of the day.
The second “olive” bedroom offers three sleeping places (2 moveable single beds) with a private sunny balcony to catch the first sunrays of the day with a beautiful look over the olive trees and pretty meadows.
The third “orange” bedroom features a fine double bed in the basement. Also the second bathroom, with bath and toilette is located here and a washing machine as well.
Ferry ports of “Navigazione Lago di Como” are in Lenno and Tremezzo (car ferry in nearby located Cadenabbia) and also a beautiful Italian “Lido” can be found in the spectacular landscaped park of Tremezzo. “Lido di Lenno” is offering another opportunity to enjoy the water of lake como or the relaxing life style during warm sunny summer days. Also the traditional market in Lenno, each Tuesday, is well worth to visit.
Hiker can start directly from this house for some challenging walks or take it somewhat easier by walking the “Greenway del Lago di Como”. This 9 miles walking tour follows the smaller local walking trails through several small villages, far away from traffic and main roads. This tour starts in Colonno, crosses Mezzegra and ends in Cadenabbia. Also Cyclists have excellent opportunities to explore the different areas around the lake with a trekking-, mountain or road racing bike.
With just a short walk along the hills the old village of Mezzegra with the small Italian St Abbondio church. From the church square, surrounded by Plantanen, one can enjoy the beautifulness and the naturalness of the “Golfo di Venere”.
The towns of Menaggio, Bellagio and Varenna, also named the “golden triangle”, are easy to reach within a few minutes by car. Comfortable air conditioned Busses are connecting Como, Menaggio and Lugano very frequently.
This house and it’s location are ideal for families who wish to either relax along or explore the beautiful Tremezzina lakeshore and this isn’t true for a summer holiday only!
