Court Barn sleeps up to six in two double bedrooms plus a twin room, located on the cleverly adapted first floor mezzanine. The addition of this twin room, overlooking the main living area, makes Court Barn perfect for four and flexible enough for six.
Outside is a stunning rose covered terrace and landscaped garden overlooking an astro-turf tennis court. With owner permission, guests may make use of the tennis court and, between May-September, are welcome to use the swimming pool, while also being encouraged to make the most of the wonderful surrounding walks, cycling routes and golf* that this area has to offer. Court Barn sits adjacent to another fabulous converted barn, Rose Barn, sleeping four guests. For certain dates, the owner can offer exclusive use of the facilities (swimming pool, tennis court, gym as well as a recently renovated bar / TV / eating area overlooking the pool) for a small additional charge. Court Barn is situated in the beautiful, gently rolling Suffolk countryside that is closely associated with the world-famous painters, Gainsborough, Constable and Munnings. The Munnings Museum and Flatford Mill are within easy reach of Court Barn and Gainsborough’s House is in Sudbury, a little further away. The countryside in which Court Barn is situated is part of Dedham Vale, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which inspired the painters. There are numerous footpaths and walking routes to explore the area further.
If the activities on offer at Court Barn aren’t enough the Stoke By Nayland Golf Club offers 2 championship courses. If you fancy seeing some four-legged action, the race course at nearby Higham has a busy programme of point to point racing in season. If all the activity has given you an appetite head to The Crown in Stoke By Nayland for a fantastic meal made with local ingredients or The Bildeston Crown is worth a visit too.
If you have younger members of your party a trip to Colchester Zoo is sure to give them a thrill. The zoo is home to a large number of rare breeds and involved in projects to ensure the animals survival in the wild. Kentwell Hall, just outside Long Melford is a Tudor mansion which hosts historical re-enactments in the Hall, the extensive parkland and rare breed farm. Find yourself back in Tudor England experiencing the life of an estate in the 16th century.
Returning to Court Barn after a busy day you will find a warm welcome as you can light the fire and relax in the very peaceful surroundings.
