If you dream of escaping to the coast and enjoy such pleasures as swimming, sailing, good food and walking, then this rather cute Scandi-inspired modern beach cottage is sure to deliver with its flint and pebble exterior and enviable location in the sought-after village of Brancaster Staithe, just a pebble’s throw from the saltmarsh and coastal path.
This little coastal gem is the perfect cosy retreat to relax with the family, although couples will also appreciate its location, which is just a minutes' walk from the renowned White Horse hotel/restaurant, considered of one of the finest places to eat along the coast, where views from the sun terrace and conservatory restaurant are simply spectacular. Head to the hotel's rear terrace for breakfast or enjoy a sundowner with tapas as the sun sets to the west.
Dolphin Cottage has its own private access to the marsh and is just a short boat ride to the stunningly beautiful and remote Scolt Head Island, which you can visit by taking a boat trip from Brancaster Staithe with a local company, Branta Cruises who are just a few doors down from the cottage.
Styled with the sea in mind, the cottage features painted floorboards and tasteful seaside inspired furnishings. Downstairs you will find a sunny sitting room with comfy sofas and an open fire for cosy evenings in; a dining room and a small modern and well-equipped kitchen with a door that literally leads you right down to the coastal path, plus there's a large bathroom with feature roll-top bath. Upstairs you'll find three bedrooms; a double, twin and a smaller room with a bunk beds, so perfect for children or three couples. Unusually for Brancaster Staithe there is off-road parking for one car to the rear of the cottage. A small south-facing front garden with bench allows you to enjoy the sunshine all day, while there is also a bench at the end of the private footpath which leads down to the waters edge.

Views can be enjoyed over the Staithe and marsh towards to the sea from some of the upstairs rooms.
There is no back garden, however the cottage provides access directly to the marsh and waters edge where you can enjoy the sun setting from the bench at the bottom.
There is parking for one car to the rear of the cottage. Additional parking is available on the road outside to the front.
One well behaved dog is welcome (small additional charge).
Dolphin Cottage is located on the marshland coastline of North Norfolk at Brancaster Staithe, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with its big blue skies, wide sandy beaches, spectacular sunsets, salty sea air and wildlife. This part of the coast is a simply beautiful area to explore. Walk the coast path and you will be rewarded with breath-taking panoramic views across tidal marshes and endless sandy beaches are close by at Brancaster beach, a 45 minute walk from the cottage along the boardwalk or a short five minute drive.
The award-winning restaurant at The White Horse makes the most of the local fishermen's catch and boasts fantastic views from its terrace towards Scolt Head Island and the sea beyond.
The Jolly Sailor's pub just a short walk away, serves food all day and was recently voted best family pub.
There are shops in the neighbouring village of Burnham Deepdale, only a short 10 minute walk away. The Deepdale complex includes a supermarket, Fat Face clothing store, a pottery, nature shop, gift shops and cafe.
Brancaster Staithe and Brancaster village are both special and unique places to be enjoyed all year around. Popular with walkers, sailors, golfers, cyclists, paddle boarders, kayakers, birdwatchers and dog owners, it is a great base for exploring the whole North Norfolk coastline.
Trendy Burnham Market is just a few minutes drive away and the popular villages and beaches of Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea are not far, when you feel the urge to explore further afield.
