After exploring the nearby Lake District, return to this secluded shepherd's hut on the edge of the Petteril River valley and relax in complete privacy with just the woods, the music of the river, birds and other wildlife for company. Don’t forget your binoculars!
This get away from it all star gazing retreat has a five foot king-size bed, a country painted kitchen with a LPG gas hob and oven, a refrigerator and oak topped sink. The en-suite shower room has a heated chrome towel rail, a water flushing WC and wash basin, and the hut is lit with solar power incorporating back up batteries. Hawthorn Retreat has a well-equipped kitchen for two including champagne glasses for an arrival toast, lovely locally sourced guest amenities and kitchen supplies. All you need to bring for a relaxing break away in this glamping retreat is yourselves.
In the summer, keep the doors open and enjoy dining al fresco on the elevated private wooden deck next to the wildflower terrace, overlooking the river where you can soak up the sun as well as the beautiful views over the valley and gorgeous woodland.
Relax next to the open fire pit and toast marshmallows, snuggle up in a woollen traditional blanket on the terrace to catch up on that book you have been longing to read in peace or fire up the Weber barbecue on balmy summer nights. As you would expect at this luxurious exclusive retreat, the logs and charcoal are complimentary and unlimited.
Hawthorn Retreat Shepherds Hut is just over a mile from Greystoke Village which can be reached by footpath from the hamlet of Blencowe. Set in the Eden Valley in Cumbria, considered one of the most beautiful and rural areas in England, Blencowe is situated on the edge of the Lake District about four miles from the Lake District National Park.
