This annexe with its stylish interior, elegant fireplace, and mezzanine master bedroom, is the perfect retreat for couples looking to enjoy a relaxing break. Ilminster is a very attractive town with a good variety of shops, a market square and a popular theatre and arts centre, and there is plenty to see and do in all directions from this special holiday cottage. Guests can relax and eat in a courtyard or the attractive terraced gardens, from where there are views of the beautiful countryside surrounding the town. Nearby are several National Trust properties including Barrington Court, Montacute House and Tintinhull with its pretty garden, and the Somerset Levels are only a short drive away. The Retreat is ideally situated in Somerset, but just over the border are also the treasures of East Devon and North Dorset too with their quaint villages and stunning countryside.
Infants and older children aged 5 years and older are welcome due to the stairs and open fire place inside the property and the steps outside in the terraced garden. Please supervise children at all times whilst in the garden.
A high chair and travel cot are available upon request. Please bring your own cot linen.

Every Thursday morning until 1.30pm, Ilminster Market in the main square offers the best fresh bread, veg, fishmonger, honey and eggs.
The Arts Centre opposite the property has a cafe with may exhibitions, craft fairs and concerts for all tastes taking place, so well worth a visit to check what is on.
For good swimming and family day out, Lyme Regis Town and Bay is a 45 minute drive away.
There are a great deal of good walks nearby, especially Dillington Estate, with gates at the top of East Street.
Free Tennis courts on the Recreational fields a stone throw away.
Chard Museum with exhibitions about the local history and interesting displays related to the lives of famous residents who lived there.
Ford Abbey House and Gardens in Chard is a privately owned former Cistercian monastery which is run as a tourist attraction.
The Somerset countryside is home to many well-loved landmarks. A few National Trust Somerset properties to visit are Glastonbury Tor, Cheddar Gorge and Brean Down.
